"Job Responsibilities:Researches, develops and writes software documentation for the Brocade 5600 vRouter in accordance with the product release schedule.Collaborates with cross-functional teams such as, Support, QA, Development, and Product Management to ensure quality and technical accuracy of new and revised content.Gathers requirements for deliverables and provides documentation estimates and plans.Creates conceptual diagrams to illustrate key points in the documents.Drives documents through the review process.Adheres to corporate style guides, templates, and Tech Com procedures.Provides input towards general process improvement.Monitors, tracks, and resolves documentation bugs. Qualifications and Skills: B.A. or B.S. in a technical or communications discipline.At least 8 years of experience writing and maintaining the following types of documentation: conceptual guides, configuration guides, command reference guides, installation guides, quick reference guides, and release notes.Networking industry experience documenting IP networking concepts, such as routing and security networking protocols (for example, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, RIP, VPN, IPsec, multicast, or firewalls). The writer should also be familiar with Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) concepts and open source communities.Knowledge of DITA.Proficiency with XML-based authoring tools, such as XMetaL, Epic Editor, and the like.Proficiency with documentation tools, such as FrameMaker.Proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint.Strong attention to detail.Positive attitude.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Ability to collaborate in a team environment.Good problem-solving skills.Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Ability to research and understand new technologies.
