"Senior Manager / Manager Engineering (BI, Analytics and Data Warehousing) Location: Bangalore, India Job Description: The Senior Manager, Engineering is a critical role in the Technology and Data Services areas of Enterprise Information Systems team at Iron Mountain. You would manage a high potential team of about 25 members spread across DWH technologies (ETL/BI) and solutions. You would independently manage the complete cost center which includes maintaining project run rates and balancing the lights on activities. You would be primarily responsible to deliver projects from off-shore; this includes end to end estimation, solution provision, execution, delivery and support. Collaborate with the cross functional teams like Infrastructure, DBA, Networking, QA, Support, Applications. You would also administrate the team which includes core people management, conflict resolution, mediation and performance management. You would play a critical role in collaborating with vendors and be competent in tracking parallel delivery. Essential job responsibility: Oversee the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvements to the Enterprise datawarehouse and infrastructure. Oversee the development of all ETL, BI and Design standards, methods, and tools. Collaborate with the database administrators to ensure that database designs comply with data principles, policies, and data model. Ensure that database software and related documentation and tools are kept current and up to date. Monitor and take appropriate action to maintain the integrity of the data warehouse databases including data quality, data integrity, security and privacy. Responsible for overall data governance and its related policies, principals, and procedures are kept current and shared with the organization. Evaluate existing database structures and recommend improvements. Identify data gaps that impact the business, create and enable data augmentation plans, including sourcing of 3rd party data that should be integrated into our data ecosystem. Manage support for the data warehouse / data marts. Ensure that issues related to ETL, Reporting and design data integration, programming and related matters are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner. Ensure that all Iron Mountain data-oriented line of business applications are properly configured, managed, and supported. This includes premise installed applications, custom applications. Coordinates with various stakeholders to ensure that all reporting, analytics, and data visualization needs are met. Oversee the Iron Mountain data model, ensuring that all key data flows are accurately captured and documented. What do you do on day to day basis (frequently)? Technical delivery Tracking of all projects in flight Close cadence with ETL, Reporting and Solutions Architecture team Liaising between global team comprising of Architects, Business stake holders and Analysts. Cadence with cross functional teams not limited to DBA, Infrastructure, Networking, Applications, Level 2 support, Project management organization and QA Status collection and reporting from the team to the management Conflict resolution and mediation if any Prioritize and plan work for each team members What would you do on Monthly basis? Time tracking and planning for the next month for each team member Maintain and update project wise run rate which would track the actual hours charged to the project by all the resources involved, forecast time allocation for the next 3 months at least for each resource, compare with approved project budget and mitigate variances in Actuals vs till date budget. Maintain Stratex and non Stratex financials and budget for all approved projects in EIS Work with the HR and recruitment team to fill any open positions, review progress on hiring, and coordinate with the global team participation in the interview process. Prepare and maintain statistics on cost center, highlights for the month, challenges mitigated and roadblocks for leadership status meets. Manage vendors, RFP, RFO, SOW writing, reviewing, negotiations What do you do on Quarterly, Half yearly, Yearly basis? Contribute towards the next year roadmap of EIS organization Participate and if needed organize global meets with various business take holders and potential sponsors to feed into the roadmap Provide feedback to team members on performance and appraisals Participate in budgeting sessions for the next year Close in on financials of the year for your cost center Identify and coordinate with the training team on relevant trainings for the team. Team building activities, Mentor, Motivate, Build trust Technical capabilities: You are expected to be highly technically competent and passionate for this role and must have spent at least 10+ year’s hands on in the following areas. ETL – Includes expertise on at least 2 ETL tools like (Datastage, ODI, Informatica, Abinitio) Reporting – Includes expertise in at least 2 Reporting tools like (Business Objects, Microstrategy, Cognos) Visualization – Experience of at least 1 Data Visualization tools like (TIBCO Spotfire, Tableau, Qlik) Data Architecture – Includes core data modeling (ER and Dimensional both), expertise on ERWIN data modeling. Unstructured data set modeling techniques would be a value-add. Databases – Good understanding of DB architecture and functionality, Oracle preferred. Infrastructure and Networking – Understand how to set up infrastructure on ETL and Reporting, ability to understand the hardware and architecture behind networking. Value adds to have clear understanding of Big Data technologies and Hadoop architecture. Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems management, Management degree or certification from premier institutes Over all 15+ years of experience in the field of Datawarehousing and Data analytics. 5 years of experience in managing high potential teams of at least 20 members. Strong understanding of data design, architecture, and development. Proven ability to lead through strong decision making, problem resolution, conflict management, and communications skills. Must show a high degree of business acumen and empathy. Outstanding technical planning skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask across number work streams. Must be highly collaborative with the ability to manage and motivate project teams and meet deliverables. Understanding of data governance and data stewardship best practices. Must have a passion for continued improvement, learning, and mentoring. Desired: Experience with “big data” tools and approaches, including NoSQL platforms. Lean/Six Sigma certification Operational Excellence training Experience through at least 1 Order Management Lifecycle end to end at a retail , e-commerce or any product based company High level understanding of Oracle financials is a plus Knowledge on statistical tools like R is a nice to have Leadership Requirements: You are a natural seeker of collaboration.
